The Process

From Threads, To Weaved Masterpiece

01 Hand Knotting

The discipline of patience. Our most demanding technique begins with warps stretched to perfect tension, each thread positioned exactly, creating the foundation for 200,000 knots per square meter. Weavers work from intricate design maps, transforming pixels into knots, each tied individually by hand. Complex patterns demand higher knot counts and longer creation times, some pieces require up to a year of constant attention. Turn any rug over to read its story in the uneven knots on the back, where KPSI (knots per square inch) reveals the true measure of craftsmanship. When light moves across a finished piece, you're seeing time made tangible.

02 Hand Tufting

Where tradition meets innovation. Canvas stretched on frame, design traced with precision. Our artisans work using tufting tools to build textural landscapes one section at a time. This backwards choreography, seeing the final piece while working from its reverse, allows for radical experiments in texture and form. The technique enables sculptural statements impossible with traditional methods, from subtle gradients to bold dimensional effects. Every variation in pile height reflects the artisan's understanding of how light will play across surfaces. Hand tufting offers unlimited creative possibilities without sacrificing the soul of handcraft.

03 Kilim Weaving

Pattern in its purest form. Kilim's beauty emerges from absence, no pile, just the essential interplay of warp and weft. Vertical threads stretch across the loom with mathematical precision, creating an invisible scaffold. Our weavers guide bright weft threads through this grid so tightly that the warps disappear entirely, leaving a pure pattern floating on the surface. The finish comes from the weaver's choices: thread sizes, color rhythms, subtle technique variations. These versatile pieces adapt to any space, travel easily, age gracefully. Through reduction, kilim achieves abundance—the perfect balance between necessity and art.
