1871 bridges heritage and contemporary art in Cairo exhibition by collaborating with 14 of Egypt's most promising artists and designers.
The Outloud Collective exhibition took place at Cairo's historic Cinema Radio, highlighting the brand's evolution under fifth-generation managing director Mohamed A. El-Kahhal. Founded in 1871 by Syrian immigrant Abdallah El-Kahhal, the company maintains its traditional handcrafting techniques while embracing modern design through artistic partnerships.
El-Kahhal emphasized the importance of supporting Egypt's creative scene by combining the brand's 151-year heritage with contemporary art, creating specially commissioned collections that gain international recognition while preserving traditional craftsmanship.
